Never shop online without "clicking through" again!
Sign up here: Ebates
How does it work?
Where do you usually shop online? Target? Ebay? Walmart? Any time you are about to make a purchase online, first go to Ebates and search for the store. The best way is to directly type it in to the search bar. Then you will see how much "cash back" you get from that store--it could be as small as 1% or as much as 20%! It all depends. But either way that's something, right?
Simply click on that store and Ebates will open a tracking ticket for you--shop as normal! The tracking ticket tracks your purchase and you will see the cash back credited to your account within a few days. Be sure to edit your account and put your address in so Ebates knows where to send the check!
Strategies with Ebates
Keep up on the "daily double." Nearly every day one store or another offers double cash back than what they normally would. I get these emails sent to my personal email and I just keep up on deleting them if I don't want them.
For the super nerdy thrift saver who has a lot of time on their hands (this is me!):
Compare your discount to Swag Bucks--swag bucks will offer you "rewards" and sometimes it pays more to click through swag bucks than it does to click through Ebates. It all comes down to doing the math. It can be time consuming to do this each and every time you shop but pennies saved add up quickly!
And remember--just because it is a deal--doesn't mean you should buy it! It is not a good deal unless you were going to buy it anyway! **(usually--see Piggy Bank rule #3 on "Start Here" tab)
